Stuck In My Head Lately

The following songs are a few of the songs that I can't help but listen to every single time they come on the radio, music choice, and are on my youtube playlist. Either you like them or don't, but either way... Opinions?

Adele - Set Fire To The Rain (Live at the Royal Albert Hall)

-Adele. What is there to say? She is so unbelievably talented. I was going to post the video for "Someone Like You", but I decided to post this instead. I'm not one for live music videos usually, but Adele is one of those artists that to truly appreciate her you have to hear her live. That way you hear her raw voice, not the synthesized one that you get on a recording. Either way though, she is amazing. I am waiting for the day I can get tickets to one of her shows. I love love love love her.

Gym Class Heroes - Ass Back Home (ft.Neon Hitch)

-I don't know what it is about this song that I just love so much...I can't help but listening to it. It's not like it truly hits a personal note, but I just LOVE it.

Bad Meets Evil - Lighters (ft. Bruno Mars)

-Almost everything that comes from Eminem turns to gold, in my opinion at least. To quote Blake Shelton from last night's "The Voice", Bruno Mars has one of those voices that just make you go "ahhhhaaahhhhhh"

Will.I.Am - T.H.E (The Hardest Ever) (ft. Jennifer Lopez & Mick Jagger)

-This was one of those songs that I didn't like at first because I thought it was a tad repetitive. But then I heard it again, and then again once more. It makes me think of my man, BJ. If you knew him, you'd understand why. That I think its an interesting mix of people in one song.

Jennifer Lopez - On The Floor (ft. Pitt Bull)

-I don't consider myself a J-Lo fan by any means, but this song has a good beat. Makes me want to dance. It's one of those songs that you put on when you're getting ready for a night out. C'mon admit it, you listened to it and started at least bobbing your head to it.

Enrique Iglesias - I Like It (ft. Pitt Bull)

-Enrique Iglesias. Yummy. Enough said.
Really though, if you don't think he has an amazing voice, you're apparently deaf. And if you're deaf you can still appreciate that yummy factor of his. :D

Katy Perry - The One That Got Away

-Last, but definitely not least, The One That Got Away. I absolutely LOVE this song. It doesn't make me think of a lover that got away, but it does make me think of the past. Friends that are no longer around, friends that I wish I was still friends with. And the video... my god. It's so perfect for the song. And at the end, I couldn't help but tear up a little bit. Katy Perry, current favorite artist. Hands down.

Now, I know at one point in time I never would've listened to a majority of the music I listen to today, and I admit, I used to be a little bit of a "music snob" (if you don't know what that is, see definition below), but that was also back when I was a teenager. As I have grown, so has my taste in music. To quote my sister Dawn "Manson to Hanson".

(from www.urbandictionary.com -
music snob

A person who believes s/he has a more refined taste in music and has much more knowledge in the field of music in general. Every song and genre is unacceptable unless the snob happens to like it, then it is absolute perfection. Music snobs feel obligated to enlighten everyone with unwelcome critiques and irrelivant musical trivia.)

Over Time...

I had just typed out a pretty long entry, when half-way through I decided that it wasn't something that I wish to share on the internet, where I know people who I don't explaining it to would see.

So instead I'm going to write about what else is on my mind.

I miss my old wolf pack. There was a time when I was surrounded by friends. And I know that they were my true friends. It wasn't that long ago. I still have some of those friends, but not like it used to be... I'm not saying I regret how my life is now, no. I love being a mom, and I love devoting my time to being with my son. He may only be 6 months old, but he's my best friend (yes, I know that is corny). I just miss the days when I could flip open my phone and have a flock to pick from. My true friends consist of a small handful of people, and that's always been that way, but I miss having people I could call and be like "hey, want to hang out?"
But I know why I chose to step away from most of the people I used to hang out with. I was in a different place then. I was also in self-destruct mode, and not all of those "friends" were always very helpful to stop said self-destruct. Expect for the ones that are still around today. I know this doesn't make sense. One moment I'm saying that I miss them, the next I am saying that most of them were bad friends.
Bad friends, not bad people... mostly.
I just think it would be nice to get together one night with all those old friends in one place. Get a case or two of beer, no liquor though, because that's usually went shit when wrong.

I just keep thinking about them... maybe they don't think about me, but I think about them. I wonder how everyone is doing, where everyone is.

It was a good, but also bad, two years. (2008-2010). Really the last time I hung out with everyone was shortly after new years 2010.

What's funny is I found my journal from then... and my new years resolution had come true. By the end of 2010 I had saved myself from self-destruction, but at the cost of a lot of friendships. I separated myself from a lot of people to get myself away from everything I was doing. But now, I wish I had at least stayed in touch....

The people in my life now, I thank God everyday for them. The friends that have been by side for years, the new friends I've been blessed to gain the past few months, and most importantly, my family.

But the memories of old friends still linger...

This is what they call a "tester post"

You know those posts people post so they can actually see what their blog looks like when they're trying to customize it?

Yeah that's what this is.

Here, watch a video

Don't care what you say, that's a good song.
